🎭 ACTORS
We’re looking for quick-thinking, big-energy performers who can light up a stage! If you love storytelling, interacting with an audience, and creating unforgettable moments through character work, puppeteering and improv, we want to meet you. Strong stage presence and confidence on a live mic are must-haves. Musical Theatre, theme park, or immersive performance experience a plus! Ability to pick up choreography/blocking is a plus!

CHARACTER 1: Mama Luna
A warm, protective caretaker with a nervous edge who is deeply devoted to her home and those in her care. She balances genuine affection with heightened reactions, serving as both the emotional grounding force and a key comedic presence throughout the performance.
This role serves as both an emotional anchor and a strong source of comedy, blending heartfelt warmth with nervous energy, physical humor, and expressive reactions.
DESCRIPTION:
Grounded, maternal caretaker with a nervous edge
Emotionally reassuring, welcoming, and deeply connected to children
Fiercely protective of her home and those in her care
Easily flustered, expressive, and reactive under pressure
Commands attention through warmth and presence rather than volume
PERFORMANCE QUALITIES:
Broad physical comedy (trips, drops, double-takes, exaggerated reactions)
Clear, expressive facial storytelling (often reacting to chaos around her)
Strong comedic timing and ability to play heightened emotional beats
Comfortable leading and reacting in scenes with puppets
Frequent interaction with the audience (direct address, call-and-response, improvised reactions)
Comfortable with simple puppeteering
CASTING SPECS:
Black / African American female performer
Height range: 5’2” – 5’4”
Strong comedic instincts with grounded warmth
Experience in theater, character performance, or family entertainment preferred
Comfortable performing multiple shows daily and maintaining consistent character energy

CHARACTER 2: Governor of Del Mar
A bold, self-important authority figure who thrives on control and attention. Larger-than-life and highly expressive, this character drives conflict through exaggerated confidence, comedic intimidation, and reactive physicality, serving as the primary antagonist and a major source of humor throughout the performance.
This role is a heightened comedic foil to the hero and caretaker characters, using bravado, overconfidence, and physical reactions to create conflict that remains playful, accessible, and family-friendly.

Easily irritated and reactive when challenged
